PARADOXES:- The pole in the barn paradox

 The pole in the barn paradox is the thought experiment related to the special theory of relativity which is also a famous variation in the twin paradox.

We have to imagine references, because everything in the universe is happening concerning others, and if we have to understand the paradoxes then we have to understand the reference for smooth imagination.

The paradox is an antinomy, It is a logically self-contradictory statement.

If we want to understand with a reference language then the paradox is a statement that runs contrary to one's expectation.

To understand the pole in the barn paradox we have to understand length contraction first.

Length Contraction:  It is the basic concept of relativity in which a moving object’s length is measured to be shorter than its proper length

The proper length is the length measured when an object is at rest in its frame of reference. That’s why I told you that the reference is a must to imagine.

Suppose, there is one train A of 4000cm. Something about 40m, 40 meter is the proper measurement of the train when it is at rest. But one passenger name sam is waiting on the platform for train B. but suddenly train A is passed at the speed of light or less than that,

According to length contraction, Sam on the platform observes that the length of the train is less than 40m. That means the length of train A is get contracted.

L=L0 /𝞬(v)

L=L0 /√(1-v2/c2)

Here, L is the observed length in the reference frame in which the object is moving

Lo is the proper length of the object in its rest frame

𝞬(v) = (1-v2/c2)  Lorentz factor

(v) Is the relative velocity between the inertial frame of reference

C is the speed of light

Lorentz factor:-  It is a Quite interesting phenomenon in the special theory of relativity it is a base of the theory

It is the quantity that expresses The Lorentz factor or Lorentz term is a quantity expressing how much the measurements of time, length, and other physical properties change for an object while that object is moving.

𝞬(v) = (1-v2/c2)

Now, this is the basic theory that supports the pole in the barn paradox.

Now, the actual theory begins...

Now imagine, there is one barn and our sam is about to pass from that barn but he is carrying one pole whose length is more than barn size,

He is running from that barn with both doors of the barn is open widely

Now from sam's reference

The barn is moving towards sam

And the length of the barn is contracted as he is constant in his reference

But from the barn's or observer's  reference ( who is observing this event ) size of the pole is getting compressed than the original one

According to theory, the sam and that pole is to be in the barn at a time and also both door of that barn is to be close as the size of pole is reduced due to length contraction and high speed

This is the theory
