PARADOXES- TWIN PARADOX

 A very beautiful thought experiment is here you might be aware of, in this experiment either you or your twin will be getting old after time travel but you have to think that way. Yes very interesting it is! 

Now just imagine, You let it be X and your brother which is twin let it be Y, you both are of the same age let say you both are 18.  You both are coming home from school, You reached home But your brother Y has a meeting with some Aliens which is on another planet outside of the solar system very strange! The planet your brother has to reach is 1 light-year from the planet Earth which Approximately 9.461e+12km. But your brother has a spacecraft having a very high speed greater than the speed of light.




If we go there with a normal spacecraft having a normal speed less than the speed of light then the time required to reach there and return home is let's say 70 years. 

If your brother reaches there and returns home after all work is done then at that time you X is of 18+ 70 = 88 years old, but your brother who did interstellar travel is of 18 years only. This is a Twin Paradox 

You will say how is this possible? Well, In physics, the twin paradox is a thought experiment in special relativity involving identical twins, one of whom makes a journey into space in a high-speed rocket and returns home to find that the twin who remained on Earth(Home place) has aged more.


I will remind you once again this is a thought experiment.

Now technically speaking. There is simple property-related speed and time that is 

The higher the speed, the slower the time relatively it is related to the Theory of relativity.

Now think carefully there are 2 clocks one is on planet earth and another one is in that high-speed spacecraft. Now you are looking at the clock which is in the spacecraft. You will find that time is running very slowly because you both are doing the relative motion, similarly, the person on board will find dilation in time with respect to the clock on earth.

Dilation of time in this case is in a very huge amount.

I like this paradox. If it is possible then I would like to do interstellar travel and live young.


If you did this with your mind then you will get to know what I am saying. What a mystery it is! Thought experiments like this are very knowledgeable to do and it sharpens our mind.

Oh sorry, I forgot to tell you guys the Twin Paradox was first invented by  Albert Einstein. In his famous paper on special relativity in 1905, Albert Einstein deduced that when two clocks were brought together and synchronized, and then one was moved away and brought back, the clock which had undergone the traveling would be found to be lagging behind the clock which had stayed put.

Omuamua -The Interstellar Object
